JAMMU, Aug 14: The Finance Department today claimed that it has so far verified around 1 lakh out of total 2.3 lakh (42%) pensioners and family pensioners in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Besides, the Department has yet again clarified that the pensioners/family pensioners, who are over 80 years of age, or suffering from serious ailments, need not visit the treasuries personally for their verification as the Treasury Officers have been deputed to facilitate their verification at their doorsteps.
Further, if a pensioner/family pensioner has any other valid reason for not coming individually for the verification, he/she can also contact the Treasury Officer on the Departmental website or on the email address of the Department, ordered the Finance Department.
