Mir said that Congress party is connected with the people at grass root level, which is evident from the incorporation of 73rd Amendment into Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act 1985.
He said due to pro-people initiatives taken by Centre and State Governments a large number of people have been benefited with employment through MGNREGA. He said that strenuous efforts were taken to develop power, road, health and educational infrastructure during last over 5 years in the State especially in rural and hilly areas.
Mir said people of the State have always rejected communal forces and this time also they will defeat nefarious designs of communal and anti-national people by inflicting crushing defeat to them in the current elections.
He asked the people to come out in large numbers to cast their votes in favour of NC-Congress alliance candidates, adding that both these parties have secular ideology and have a clear vision for the prosperity and upliftment of the people.
