JAMMU, Aug 16: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Vijaypur, Jammu has launched Immunisation Clinic, which officially was inaugurated on August 16, this year, by the President of AIIMS Jammu, Prof (Dr) Y.K Gupta in presence of Executive Director & CEO Prof (Dr). Shakti Kumar Gupta.
Besides Dean Academics, Dr. Meeta Gupta, Deputy Director (Administration) Lt. Col (retd) Prabhat Sharma and district health officials, Samba including Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, District Immunisation Officer, Dr. Kamlesh Kumari, District Vaccine Cold Chain Manager, Dr. Vasu Vaid along with faculty members from the departments of Community Medicine and Paediatrics were also present.
This state-of-the-art facility, operational under the Departments of Community Medicine and Paediatrics in collaboration with District Health authorities, Samba, is set to enhance the quality of healthcare for the community by providing comprehensive routine immunisation services free of cost under the Universal Immunisation Programme (UIP).
A distinguishing feature of the clinic is its integrated approach to healthcare covering antenatal women, children, and adolescents under the UIP, which also aims to monitor and support their overall health and well-being. In addition to vaccination, the clinic will provide thorough assessments of the growth of children by their anthropometric measurements and evaluation of developmental milestones.
The clinic is staffed by a team of highly qualified and trained Healthcare professionals, including paediatricians and Community Health Specialists, dedicated to delivering exceptional care and support.
The Clinic is part of AIIMS Jammu’s ongoing commitment to improving health outcomes and providing accessible, high-quality healthcare services to the community.
These services can be availed at Room Number 16, Ground Floor, AYUSH Block, AIIMS Jammu and will be operational every Wednesday from 8:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. either directly by Walk-in or by online appointment using ‘AIIMS Jammu Swasthya’ App.
