Bhaderwah Chowk at Batote renamed as Shaheed Sarfraz Chowk

RAMBAN, Aug 16: In the honour of the Martyr Constable Sarfraz Ahmad who attained martyrdom on 15th of August 2022 while fighting with the terrorists during his duties in Kashmir Valley at Police Station Nowhatta, Martyr Memorial (Samadhi) which was established at Bhaderwah Morh Batote was inaugurated by the DIG DKR Shridhar Patil.
During the occasion, Guard of Honour and General Salute was presented to the chief guest on his arrival. The other dignitaries present on the occasion were DDC Chairperson Dr Shamshad Shan, Deputy Commissioner Ramban Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, SSP Ramban Anuj Kumar, SSP Traffic Rohit Baskotra and Dy. Co IRP 16th Bn Rayaz Iqbal Tantray as Host.
The Samadhi (statue) was unveiled by the chief guest along with the spouse/ parents of the Martyr Constable in presence of the good number of gathering comprising of 1000 people approximately. Floral tribute were paid on the Samadhi of the Martyr Constable by the dignitaries and respectable citizens of the civil society.
The erstwhile name of the place as Bhaderwah Chowk was dedicated on the name of Martyr Constable and renamed as Shaheed Sarfraz Chowk.
