Rituals, Pujan at shrine tomorrow

JAMMU, Aug 17: The Chhari Mubarak, silver mace of Shri Amarnath Ji one depicting Lord Shiva and another Goddess Parvati led by Mahant Deependra Giri Ji, its sole custodian reached Sheshnag today amid tight security measures.

The Chhari Mubarak started from Camp Chandanwari early this morning and after performing Pujan at holy Sheshnag lake it reached at resting place of holy mace at camp Sheshnag at around 4:15 pm for night halt.

The holy mace will leave Camp Sheshnag tomorrow morning for a night halt at Camp Panchtarni, the last halting camp on way to holy cave.
Chhari Mubarak shall reach cave shrine of Shri Amarnath Ji on the auspicious occasion of Shravan Purnima that coincides with Raksha Bandhan festival on August 19 to perform traditional rituals and Pujan.
After performing day long traditional rituals at the holy cave, the Chhari Mubarak will proceed towards Panchtarni in the evening of the same day. After a night halt at Panchtarni it will leave for Pahalgam next morning.
The Chhari Mubarak will have a night stay at Pahalgam on August 20 and on August 21, the relics will be immersed in river Lidder in a traditional way which will be followed by serving of Prashad to Sadhus and devotees at the bank of river Lidder.
In the evening the holy mace will proceed to its abode Dashnami Akhara Srinagar.
It may be recalled that 52-day annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra started on June 29 from twin tracks of Baltal and Nunwan and over 5.10 lakh pilgrims from different parts of country and abroad performed darshan at Himalayan cave situated at an altitude of 3888 meters.
