BJP leaders demand ownership rights for evacuees property tenants

JAMMU, Aug 18: A public meeting was convened today by the Joint Action Committee of evacuee property tenants, marking a historic moment for refugees from 1947, 1965, and 1971 as the Administrative Council, led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, approved the long-awaited ownership rights for evacuee property tenants.
BJP leader, Anu Rajesh Gupta was chief guest with Karan Singh, BJP district vice president as guest of honour. The event was presided over by BJP district general secretary, Kuldeep Khandhari.
In her address, Anu Gupta expressed her deep gratitude towards LG Manoj Sinha and the Administrative Council for this historic decision, which has fulfilled the long-standing demand of refugees. She emphasized the importance of extending similar ownership rights to the local residents who have maintained these properties over the decades. She appealed the LG to consider the ownership rights as a gift to the locals whose efforts have preserved these properties.
Karan Singh highlighted this as a significant victory for the Jammu East Citizen Forum and the people of Jammu. He paid tribute to the late MLA Rajesh Gupta, who tirelessly championed the cause of ownership rights for evacuee property tenants in various forums. Singh described the decision as a testament to the power of public struggle and unity.
Kuldeep Khandhari gave credit to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and LG Manoj Sinha for their visionary leadership in resolving this long-pending issue. He assured the public of continued efforts to address their remaining demands, acknowledging the united front presented by the Joint Action Committee in organizing such a successful public meeting.
