Management Committee seeks arrangements for Kailash Kund Yatra

UDHAMPUR, Aug 18: Kailash Kund Yatra Management Committee Dudu, submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Udhampur seeking adequate arrangements for the Dudu leg of annual Kailash Kund Yatra from Vasuki Nag Temple Dudu to Kailash Kund Bhaderwah.
The memorandum was submitted by president of Kailash Kund Yatra Management Committee, Hans Raj Thakur, through ADC Udhampur, Joginder Singh Jasrotia.
The committee sought preparation of action plan in advance to provide tents of different sizes to be installed at base camp Dudu, Seoj Dhar and community kitchen points en route; adequate security for the Yatra; removable GC sheet sheds at Seoj Dhar for community kitchen and sheltering Yatris in case of inclement weather; portable toilets for base camp, Seoj Dhar and Yatra route; clean drinking water and electricity/ generator; declare holiday on August 30 and 31 in Tehsil Latti and Basantgarh as per the past practice, deploy medical teams at base camp Dudu and Seoj Dhar; repair and upgrade the pedestrian path leading to Seoj Dhar and provide transport service for to and fro movement of Yatris from Latti, Basantgarh and Kulwanta.
Pertinent to mention that movement of devotees will start from Dudu towards Kailash Kund on August 27 while the holy mace will leave the base camp (Vasuki Nag Temple Dudu) on 30th August and return on September 1, 2024, involving night stay at Seoj Dhar (30 August) and Kailash Kund (31 August).
