JAMMU, Aug 19 : The Sanskrit Month organized by the Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust was concluded here today.
The program was presided over by Mahamandaleshwar 1008 Mahant Rameshwar Das Maharaj, while Dr. Bhupendra Nath Tripathi (Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST, Jammu) was the Chief Guest and Guest of honour Sham Lal Sharma, former Minister of Jammu & Kashmir also graced the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahant Rohit Shastri, the head of the Trust, stated that during Sanskrit Month, 19 programs were organized to promote the divine language Sanskrit, including events on de-addiction, cyber security, tree plantation, and anti-drug rallies. The primary objective of the Trust is to bring Sanskrit into every household.
Mahamandaleshwar 1008 Mahant Rameshwar Das highlighted that Sanskrit Day is celebrated every year on the day of Shravan Purnima.
Dr. Bhupendra Nath Tripathi remarked that Mahant Rohit Shastri has given a new identity to Sanskrit in Jammu & Kashmir.
He emphasized that the Sanskrit is the oldest language in the world, embodying the cultural pride of India.
“There is a need to bring Sanskrit to the masses to further spread India’s glorious culture,” he said.
Sham Lal Sharma stated that the Trust is playing a crucial role in promoting the divine language Sanskrit and explained that Sanskrit is not merely a language of rituals but the mother of Sanatan Dharma and culture.
He also emphasized the importance of knowing both the local Dogri language and Sanskrit for the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
Earlier, Rajeev Sharma, a member of the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, renowned graphic designer & Cartoonist Chandrashekhar, Dr Satay Priya and Preeti Chaudhary, were honored for their significant contributions to society.
Among others who were present during the function included Prof. Sharad Chandra Sharma,Dr Vikas padha, Ajay Sharma,Uttam Chand Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Deepak Gupta, Ankush Sharma, Ajay Sharma, Dil Bahadur Singh, Nigam Gupta, Rahul Singh, Rajan Sharma, Rakesh Singh, Master Vijay Kumar, Rakesh Singh, Mannu Mehta, Yash Seth, and Rajinder Seth.
