SRINAGAR, Aug 20: Election Commission of India (ECI), on Tuesday issued notification for the first phase of the Assembly election to be held on September 18 in Jammu and Kashmir.

A total of 24 Assembly constituencies (ACs) in the districts of Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam, Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar will go to polls in the first phase while polling for the rest of the 66 constituencies will be held in the second and third phases on Septembr 25 and October 1.
Assembly election will be held in Jammu and Kashmir after 10 years.
In Kashmir Division 16 Assembly Constituencies comprising Pampore; Tral; Pulwama; Rajpora; Zainapora; Shopian; D.H. Pora; Kulgam; Devsar; Dooru; Kokernag (ST); Anantnag West; Anantnag; Srigufwara – Bijbehara; Shangus – Anantnag East; Pahalgam and in Jammu Division Assembly Constituencies comprising Inderwal; Kishtwar; Padder, Nagseni; Bhadarwah; Doda; Doda West; Ramban and Banihal are scheduled to go to polls in the first phase of the election.
As per the Notification, the last date for filing nominations is August 27. Scrutiny of the nomination papers will take place on August 28 and last date of withdrawal of candidature is August 30.
The polling for these Assembly constituencies will be conducted from 07:00 AM to 06:00 PM, the notification said.
The election in the second phase will be held for 26 seats on September 25 and in the third and final phase, the polling will be conducted for 40 seats on October 1.
