Cong pays tribute to Rajiv Gandhi

SRINAGAR/ JAMMU, Aug 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today remembered former Prime Minister, Late Rajiv Gandhi on his 80th birth anniversary at Srinagar Party office and paid floral tribute to the departed leader.
Senior leaders, former Legislators, DCC presidents, Block presidents and others in a meeting held at Congress office Srinagar which was presided over by former JKPCC president Peerzada Mohd Sayeed paid floral tribute to Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary.
Speaking on the occasion, Peerzada Mohd Sayeed recollected the supreme sacrifices given by Rajiv Gandhi for the Nation and termed him a visionary, man of development and prosperity. He said Rajiv Gandhi took the country to heights in terms of development, education, computer sciences, agriculture and various other fields.
Sayeed ensured equal privileges and development of rural population in the country and brought the development at their doorsteps through Panchayat Raj System and said that the Nation will continue to remember Rajiv Gandhi for his selfless services and supreme sacrifices.
During function at party office in Jammu, party president T H Karra accompanied by G A Mir, Raman Bhalla, Tara Chand, Mula Ram, Yogesh Sawhney, Ravinder Sharma, Manmohan Singh and others also paid floral tribute to Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary and recalled his services for the country.
