JAMMU, Aug 20: All Jammu and Kashmir Electric Department Linemen and Workers Union today projected their long pending demands.
In a meeting of the Union held here today under the leadership of Ashiq Hussain, its president, the members demanded conduct of DPC of all the categories of the Non-Gazetted employees. They alleged that employees and workers were facing stagnation since long.
They demanded ex-gratia/ relief in favour of the families of the employees/workers who lost their lives or sustained serious injuries while discharging their duty. They also demanded regularisation of those workers of PDD/ Power Development Corp Ltd who have completed seven years of service. They also demanded safety tool kits for the field workers/linemen.
Several Union members attended the meeting. Prominent among those included – Anil Singh, Pawan Sharma, Vijay Gupta, Kartar Nath, Gul Mohd and Surinder Singh.
