JAMMU, Aug 21: The Cyber Cell of Jammu and Kashmir Police has solved several online financial frauds to the tune of lakhs of rupees.
A Cyber Cell official said that in one of the cases, the complainant lost Rs 1 lakh when he reviewed the basic amenities and services of hotels on the request of the fraudster.
In another incident of similar nature, he said, the victim lost Rs 89,700.
Rs 60000 of the victim were lost to another fraud wherein the trading company didn’t return his hard-earned money, he said.
With the timely intervention of the teams of the Cyber Cell, Rs 2, 34, 653 out of total Rs 2, 49, 700 was put on hold to avoid financial losses to the victims, he added.
