KARGIL, Aug 21: To review the ongoing projects in Shargole Constituency, Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon paid a visit here today.
During his tour, the residents of Lotsum village highlighted several issues including the relocation of PHC to Bhaqnaq on NH1, the need for a bank branch, reconstruction of the high school, drinking water facilities, and the construction of a link road to Masjid-e-Kousar.
Responding to these concerns, the CEC instructed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the PHC under the National Health Mission (NHM) or in the upcoming financial year.
He also urged villagers to identify a suitable location for proposed JK Bank branch.
In Shargole, the CEC addressed issues related to Khul upgradation, road maintenance, community hall construction, and land compensation.
He instructed the concerned departments to prepare a DPR for these issues to be reflected in future plans.
In Darket, the villagers raised issues including the reconstruction and remodeling of Farka Khul, construction of various link roads, and upgradation of the medical center.
The CEC informed the villagers that the DPR for remodeling Farka Khul is ready and reflected in the Special Development Plan (SDP).
He assured that all issues, including the UT Capex budget and also instructed the Block Development Officer Shargole to manage the handover of the REW guest house at Darket and directed the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) to propose an extension of rooms at Government Middle School in Darket.
The residents of Wakha and Mulbek villagers also raised their concerns.
The CEC instructed the relevant officers to prepare proposals for these projects, ensuring the villagers are consulted and involved in the process. Executive Engineer PHE assured to provide water within 10 days to every household.
Dr. Jaffer Akhoon reaffirmed the commitment of LAHDC Kargil to the welfare of people and assured that all issues will be addressed in a phased manner.
On the occasion, Executive Councillors, Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Councillor Shargole district and block-level officers and officials were also present.
