JDU J&K chief calls on Union Tourism Minister

NEW DELHI, Aug 21: Janata Dal-United (JDU) Party president for Jammu and Kashmir, GM Shaheen, met with the Union Tourism Minister, Gajender Singh Shekhawat, at the latter’s office in Delhi today.
During the meeting, Shaheen discussed the pressing issue of tourist facilitators in Jammu and Kashmir, seeking support and assistance from the Central Government. Shekhawat assured Shaheen that the Government would give priority to the concerns of tourist facilitators and provide all possible support in the coming days.
Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat and Ishfaq Ahmad Rather, senior party leaders, accompanied Shaheen to the meeting.
Following the discussion, Shaheen extended an invitation to Shekhawat to visit Kashmir after the upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting is seen as a positive step towards addressing the challenges faced by the Tourism Industry in Jammu and Kashmir, and the JDU party’s efforts to seek support from the Central Government for the region’s development.
