JAMMU, Aug 22: In order to discuss their issues, a delegation of Indian Newspaper Society (INS), called on Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw here today.
The delegation was led by President, INS Rakesh Sharma.
The issues, which were discussed during the meeting included, Recommendation of 9th Rate Structure Committee, withdrawal of 5% customs duty on newsprint, withdrawal of GST on Digital news subscription, Discrimination of English newspapers in empanelment with CBC, Translation of Indian newspapers in UN languages, consideration of separate rate for E-papers, extension time to submit audited circulation certificates, CBC budget revision for Print media and outstanding dues of CBC.
The Minister gave a kind consideration to each of the issues raised by the delegation and assured to address the same in due course of time.
A detailed representation, elaborating the aforementioned issued was also handed over by the delegation to the Minister.
