HARIDWAR, Aug 22: Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust has stated that Ayurvedic formulation Renogrit not only heals kidneys damaged by the allopathic anti-cancer drug Cisplatin but also alleviates oxidative stress on kidney cells.
In a handout Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust said that these findings are not merely claims but were supported by the renowned American research journal, Nature publication’s Scientific Reports which can be accessed at http://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-024-69797-3.
The research journal stated that Renogrit treatment reduced necroptosis in Cisplatin -induced HK-2 cells.
It further stated that Renogrit treatment reduced inflammation in human kidney cells. It was observed that Renogrit treatment did not affect the viability of HEK-Blue IL-1? reporter cells. Collectively, Renogrit treatment might ameliorate Cisplatin-induced renal injury and inflammation by modulation of IL-1? signalling cascade and LXR-? levels.
Also, Renogrit treatment did not alter the anticancer property of Cisplatin.
Renogrit treatment enhanced lysosome population and mitophagy in cisplatin-exposed C. elegans.
Speaking on the occasion, Acharya Balkrishna said that various Ayurvedic texts describe remedies for kidney diseases and these conditions have been effectively treated since ancient times.
He further emphasised that Ayurveda is the ultimate truth, substantiated by research evidence.
He said that a baseless and conspiratorial rumour was spread in the country that Ayurvedic medicines harm the kidneys.
