CAT stays 2 orders of Higher Edu Deptt

JAMMU, Aug 23: The Central Administration Tribunal (CAT) has directed the Higher Education Department to adhere to the Rule 64(d) of the J&K PSC (Business and Procedure) Rules, 2021 by promoting the applicants being selected and recommended by the PSC against the available vacancies.
Moreover, the CAT Jammu Bench Member Judicial Rajinder Singh Dogra has stayed two orders of the department—297-JK (HE) of 2024 dated May 20, 2024 whereby the claims of certain Associate Professors were rejected by the department and 381-JK (HE) dated July 18, 2024 whereby DDO powers were delegated to the Principals/senior most faculty members of 13 Government Degree Colleges.
After hearing counsel for the applicants, the CAT issued notice to the respondents returnable by September 24, 2024 for filing of reply. In the meanwhile, as an interim measure, the CAT stayed the operation of both these orders qua the applicants till the next date of hearing.
