Srinagar, Aug 23: Police today arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla, recovering 48 grams of charas from their possession.
In a statement, authorities said that a police team from Police Station Boniyar, led by SHO PS Boniyar, intercepted two individuals at a checkpoint established near Govt. Degree College Boniyar.
The suspects were identified as Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, son of Habibullah, a resident of Bagna Salamabad, and Mubashir Ahmad Khan, son of Atta Mohammad Khan, a resident of Girdnawah Nowshera.
“During the search, 48 grams of a contraband substance resembling charas were recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Boniyar, where they remain in custody,” the police said.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Boniyar, and an investigation has been initiated.
