Jammu, Aug 24: FICCI FLO Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh (JKL) Chapter, as part of its ongoing efforts to empower young women through education and skills development, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Government College for Women (GCW), Parade Ground, Jammu.
The MoU was signed today by Dr. Ravender Kumar Tickoo, Principal of GCW Parade, and Ruchika Gupta, Chairperson FICCI FLO JKL. Also present on the occasion was Varuna Anand, Immediate Past Chair FICCI FLO JKL.
The collaboration marks the establishment of a Young Women Affinity Group (YWAG) at GCW Parade. This initiative aims to create a dedicated forum for young women pursuing higher education in prominent institutions across the region. Through YWAG, women students at GCW Parade will gain access to a wide range of opportunities provided by FICCI FLO JKL, including participation in events, knowledge-building sessions, webinars, workshops, and training programs.
As part of the MoU, FICCI FLO JKL will invite prominent speakers to the college to interact with students and conduct women-centric events at no cost to the institution. These activities aim to enhance the students’ skills, knowledge, and confidence, preparing them for future leadership roles.
Dr. Seema Malpotra, Convenor of the Women’s Study Centre and CASH at GCW Parade, has been nominated as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the initiative, ensuring smooth coordination between the college and FICCI FLO JKL.
During the signing ceremony, Ruchika Gupta discussed upcoming areas of collaboration, focusing on enabling women students to upskill themselves and enroll in certification courses offered by FICCI FLO JKL.
This partnership is a significant step towards empowering young women in the region, and FICCI FLO JKL looks forward to continued support from the college and its students as they work together to build a brighter future for women in Jammu and Kashmir.
