AIMCCC delegation calls on DC Jammu

JAMMU, Aug 24: A delegation of All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) called on Deputy Commissioner Jammu under the leadership of Desh Ratten Pandita, president of the organisation.
The other members of delegation were P N Jalali, vice president AIMCCC, Jawahir Lal Raina its general secretary, Kulwant Singh and Ramesh Kumar Tikoo. The delegation discussed the problems of migrants residing in camps and non camps with DC.
The points which were discussed included benefits under Kissan Nidhi Yojna for KPs, implementation of social welfare schemes to all migrants living anywhere in the country because large number of people are living below poverty line and need assistance from Social Welfare Department as single sole is getting a relief of only Rs 3250 per month and on this meagre amount a migrant can’t make his both ends meet.
The delegation said that such migrants need assistance and help from Social Welfare Department. The delegation also appealed the Deputy Commissioner to visit camps. The health issues and other problems faced by migrants were also discussed by delegation with DC.
The Deputy Commissioner informed the delegation that Government has taken an initiative to provide benefits of Social Welfare Schemes to migrants as well. He said the Kissan Nidhi Yojna and other schemes are also being implemented on them.
