JAMMU, Aug 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Police in Jammu District today claimed they have foiled four bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 72 animals from the clutches of the smugglers in the jurisdiction of Police Station Jhajjar Kotli. Besides, 4 vehicles have also been seized.
A police official said that a team of Police Station Jhajjar Kotli foiled two bovine smuggling bids and rescued 52 animals besides seizing two vehicles.
On this, he said, two separate cases FIR numbers 192/2024 and 195/2024 under sections 223 BNS and 11 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli.
He said another party of Police Post Manwal foiled two bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 20 animals from the clutches of the smugglers.
On this, two separate cases FIR Numbers 193/2024 and 194/2024 under Sections 223 BNS and 11 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli.
He added that the drivers of all the four vehicles have managed to flee.
As such, further investigation is underway to arrest them, said the police official.
