JAMMU, Aug 25: Former minister and JKPCC working president Raman Bhalla today said that winds of change are blowing in J&K and Congress is emerging as a first choice in J&K in view of the consistency in its policy and secular credentials.

Addressing election rally at Channi Himmat in Gandhinagar-Bahu Constituency on Sunday, Bhalla said that people in J&K feel cheated from their respective parties whom they voted to majority in 2014. He said BJP so far has run govt against the wishes of the people. Still people expected them to deliver and come up to their expectations, to which they utterly failed because of their vested agenda.

Bhalla said BJP badly divided the people on regional and religious lines and vitiated the overall social and secular atmosphere besides failed to deal with the security environment and finally left J&K in political uncertainty. He said that Congress party would always remain steady on its principles of secularism, and equality for all & equitable development of J&K. He exhorted party workers to strengthen the booths and gear up for forthcoming Assembly elections.

JKPCC leader charged the Government in J&K for creating a mess of the whole situation and worst ever misrule in the history of the State. He said that 2014 elections were held in a totally polarized atmosphere and the BJP not only exploited the religious emotions of people but also surrendered before the hunger of power. People saw real face of BJP when it came to power after total surrender of their agenda. Expressing hope, JKPCC working- president claimed that Congress Party will form next Government in Jammu and Kashmir.

Coming down heavily on BJP, he said, the party befooled the people with their false promises and they completely failed to fulfill the promises made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The first time rule under BJP proved to be worse of its kind where the common masses were suffering and ruling class enjoyed royal lifestyle.”They never care for Jammu where from they got their votes. The people who voted them to power faced frequent power cuts, lack of drinking water supply, price rise of essential commodities, failed to deal with Pakistan on borders, due to which many soldiers got martyred in absence of strong foreign policy,” he alleged.

“People have to decide who they want to represent them, especially who can deliver. I can say on behalf of Congress that we will deliver. The moment we are elected, the first fight will be for the restoration of Statehood,” he added.

Prominent among those present on the occasion include Ex Corporator Kamal Singh, JKPCC secretary Jatinder Singh Chib, Bahadur Singh, Rashpal Singh, Raj Kumar, Uttam Singh, Manoj Kumar, Gagan Bral and others.
