Thanking the people for their overwhelming affection in his favour and reposing full faith in him, Bhardwaj said that Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has infused a new life in the party organsiation and strengthened their resolve to defeat the communal forces, through his inspiring leadership and relentlessly working to highlight people’s problems and social injustice across the country. “His recent visit to Jammu and Kashmir accompanied by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has been a morale booster for the party leaders and workers who are buoyed up to ensure victory of the party candidates,” he added.
Lauding the effort of Gandhi to streamline and strengthen the secular and democratic forces under the aegis of I.N.D.I.A combine with the active cooperation of National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah, he said this is a move in the right direction to to defeat, “communal, divisive and anti-people forces” which are represented by the BJP. “The saffron party is solely responsible for the current mess in which Jammu and Kashmir has been pushed by the anti-people policies of the Government of India and LG administration. Secular forces under Congress umbrella only have the where-withal to defeat BJP’s nefarious designs of further dividing Jammu and Kashmir in all ways,” he added.
He ruled that despite being home to holy Hindu shrines and immense tourism potential the twin-engine governments of the BJP have totally neglected the constituency. Those who have represented the constituency in the recent past in assembly and in the cabinet, are answerable to the people, he said.
