R S PURA, Aug 25: General Secretary of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee and DDC Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony today launched a scathing attack on the BJP, accusing the party of deceiving the public with a barrage of lies ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a series of meetings in RS Pura South Constituency, Tony urged the people to remain vigilant against the false promises that the BJP would make to secure votes.
Tony highlighted the failures of the BJP-led Government, pointing specifically to the tragic loss of over 800 farmers’ lives during the farmers’ protests. He claimed that the Central Government was directly responsible for these deaths, along with thousands of unaccounted farmer suicides due to economic hardships and policy failures. “The so-called ‘pro-farmer’ policies of the BJP have been nothing but a façade,” Tony asserted.
The senior Congress leader further criticized the BJP for its divisive politics, claiming that the party is focused on sowing discord rather than addressing the real issues faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “The people of J&K have endured enough under the misgovernance of the BJP. It is time for a change, and Congress is ready to restore peace, dignity, and development to this region,” he added.
Appealing to the people to support the Congress Party in the forthcoming Assembly elections, Tony emphasized that Congress stands for the welfare of all sections of society, particularly farmers, youth, and marginalized communities. He assured the public that Congress is committed to rebuilding Jammu and Kashmir and providing its people with the governance they deserve.
Tony urged the people to reject the BJP’s falsehoods and place their trust in the Congress Party, which, he said, has a proven track record of working for the people’s welfare and development.
The meeting witnessed an enthusiastic participation of local leaders and youth, including Mohinder Choudhary, Bittu Choudhary, Bal Krishan Bhagat, Ashok Bhagat, S Mohinder Singh and Yughvir Singh.
