17 bovines rescued, two vehicles seized

UDHAMPUR, Aug 25: Police foiled three different bovine smuggling attempts and seized two vehicles besides rescuing 17 bovines.
According to Police, a team of Police Post Roundomail intercepted a vehicle (Tata Yodha) bearing registration number JK14H- 9123 in which eight bovines were loaded without valid permission. Police rescued these bovines and seized the vehicle. In this regard, case FIR under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Udhampur.
One more bovine smuggling bid was foiled by Police Post Roundomail when a Bolero Pick up vehicle, bearing registration number JK14J-1477 was intercepted. In this case, seven bovines were rescued. Police seized the vehicle and registered case FIR under relevant sections of law in Police Station Udhampur.
Meanwhile, Police team of Police Station Panchari apprehended one bovine smuggler who was taking two bovines on foot towards Kashmir valley without any valid permission. Accused was arrested and a case has been registered in this connection.
