Natrang presenting ‘Ghumayee’

JAMMU, Apr 12: Natrang treats Jammuites on Baisakhi with the presentation of internationally acclaimed Dogri play ‘Ghumayee’ on April 13, 2014 at 6.15 pm at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground Jammu.
This was informed here today by Natrang Director Balwant Thakur in a press briefing at Natrang Studio Theatre, Jammu. He informed that Rakesh Gupta Principal Secretary to Governor will be the Chief Guest on the occasion and Shantmanu, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu will preside over whereas  B.P. Bhalla, Chairman 17 Miles Hotel and Resturant will be the guest of honour.
The play is brought to Jammuites by by 17 Miles Hotel and Resturant.
Play Ghumayee has already brought the theatre of Jammu in the International limelight. Credited being the first play from India which was featured in the Frankfurt International Theatre Festival in 2009, Germany also has the distinction of having performed in Germany, Russia, Hungary and Poland. This play has also been featured in the Commonwealth Games-2010-Delhi as best of India’s Theatre for the global audiences. For this show all the senior actors are performing to make it very special for the audiences on Baisakhi. Vikrant Sharma is performing the male lead as ‘Panni Lane Wala’  whereas the lead female ‘Dulhan’ is being performed by  Tajasvi Sharma who is currently working in films and Television serials in Mumbai. Versatile Anil Tickoo is performing as Dulha and is supported by highly talented actors of Natrang including, Suresh Kumar, Dimple Sharma, Sumeet Sharma, Pawan Verma, Aarushi Thakur, Shakshi Prakash, Uplaksh Singh, Surya Salathia, Ashwani Bali, Vanshika Gupta, Ankush Lakhnotra, Mahkshit Singh, Gopi Sharma, Sanchita Dubey and Sachin Saini. The Lights are being lookedafter by Suraj Ganjoo whereas the sound is being managed by Neeraj Kant.
The music of the play is given by Suraj Singh and folk motifs have been designed by Jagpal Singh. “Ghumayee” is a play based on Dogri Folk Tale of a hilly village.
