Srinagar, Aug 26: District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson Shopian along with DDC member Harmain today resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and extended their support to former MLA Wachi Aijaz Ahmad Mir.
DDC Chairperson Shopian Bilquees Bano said that she has resigned from the party and will support Aijaz Ahmad Mir, who is scheduled to contest election as an Independent candidate from Zainapora constituency.
The DDC member of Harmain, Abdul Rashid Lone said that he is resigning from basic membership of PDP and will support Aijaz Mir.
Lone said that they can’t expect anything from the party that has not done justice with Aijaz Ahmad Mir, who has worked day and night for the betterment of the party.
Notably, Aijaz Mir resigned from PDP last week and is likely to contest the Assembly polls as an independent candidate.
