SRINAGAR, Aug 27: Former District president of Mahila Congress Bandipora, Rehana here today joined Janata Dal United (JD-U).
The joining ceremony took place in the presence of JD-U J&K president, G.M Shaheen who welcomed the new entrant into the party. Speaking on the occasion Shaheen said that joining of Rehana will significantly strengthen their women wing in Bandipora district.
Rehana expressed her enthusiasm about joining JD-U and said that previously she was associated with the Congress as Mahila District president of Bandipora for four years.
“Now, I have joined JD-U along with all my supporters,” she said adding that more members from Bandipora district might follow her and may join JD-U in coming days.
