He said the verification revealed that Bodh Raj owned multiple plots, houses, business partnerships, and benami properties.
He also had significant financial transactions in his bank accounts, both in his name and in the names of close relatives and associates, he said.
“These assets were found to be highly disproportionate to his known income,” added the ACB official.
Following the verification, he said, the ACB registered FIR number 08/2024 against Bodh Raj under sections 13 (1) (b) and 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
As part of the investigation, he said, the ACB conducted searches at seven locations, including Bodh Raj’s residence in Muthi, Jammu, and various business premises in Kathua and Gurdaspur, Punjab.
During these searches, incriminating documents, including revenue papers and bank records, were seized.
When the last report poured in, searches were continuing at the Lale-Da-Bagh based palatial house of Bodh Raj.
“The searches will continue till morning as further investigation into the case is underway,” said the ACB official.
