Tipper driver killed in road accident

RAMBAN, Aug 28: A tipper driver here today lost his life after his vehicle veered off the road and landed in a deep gorge in Khari area.
Police sources said that rashly driven tipper bearing registration number JK19A-5838 while on way to Ukhral from Khari went out of control and fell into a deep gorge on Siran-Sirachi link road.
On getting information about the accident, cops from Police Post Khari and local volunteers rushed to the spot and retrieved the critically injured driver and shifted him to PHC Khari which after first aid referred him to some Srinagar based hospital for better treatment but he succumbed in the ambulance at Banihal.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Iqbal, 40, son of Abdul Majeed Khan, resident of Chanpa Batote.
After post-mortem and other legal formalities body of the deceased was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
Police has registered a case in this regard under relevant Sections of law at Police Station Banihal and started investigation.
