RAMBAN, Aug 29: To review the relief and rescue operation in cloudburst-affected area of Rajgarh, Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, along with Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kulbir Singh paid a visit here today.
DC Chaudhary took a hands-on approach, personally assessing the extent of the damage and ensuring that relief measures are being implemented swiftly.
During his interaction with the grieving families, he expressed profound sorrow and reiterated the administration’s commitment to standing shoulder to shoulder with those impacted by the disaster.
Chaudhary highlighted the immediate and coordinated response initiated by the district’s Civil and Police Administration in the wake of the cloudburst on August 26, 2024.
The Deputy Commissioner assured the affected families that they would receive full relief assistance in accordance with government norms.
“The administration is committed to the rapid restoration of essential services, aiming to return normalcy to the affected regions at the earliest possible time,” he said and emphasized the importance of safety, particularly urging students to attend schools in secure locations and advising all residents to avoid crossing the treacherous Nullas, which remain hazardous.
The rescue operations, launched in collaboration with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and local Quick Response Teams (QRTs), have so far resulted in the recovery of three bodies from the seven reported missing.
Search efforts continue with urgency to locate the remaining individuals.
