JAMMU, Aug 30: Police in Sub-Division Nagrota claimed today they have foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 11 animals from the clutches of the smugglers.
A police official said that a team of Police Post Manwal stopped a vehicle (JK11G-0142) at Nadal area for checking.
During search, he said, 11 animals crammed inside the vehicle in a cruel manner were recovered.
According to him, the accused has been booked in case FIR number 200/2024 under Section 223 BNS and 11 PCA registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and further investigation taken up.
The vehicle used in the commission of offence has also been seized, added the police official.
