JAMMU, Sept 2: Senior BJP leader and candidate for the Jammu West Assembly segment, Arvind Gupta today lambasted Congress for its failure to bring meaningful development to the region during its decades-long tenure in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. He stated that Congress has nothing in its kitty to showcase its achievements to the people of Jammu region, as the Party’s only focus was appeasing Kashmir-centric policies dictated by Valley-based leaders.
The senior BJP leader was speaking to media persons during his road show which starting from Gurha Morh and after passing through the markets of Bakshi Nagar, finally concluded at Om Palace, Shakti Nagar in Jammu West Assembly constituency. Senior BJP leader Brijesh Gupta also accompanied him.
Highlighting the stark contrast, Arvind emphasized the transformational changes brought about by the Modi Government in J&K over just 10 years of its governance at the Centre. “The result of this transformation is right before the people,” he said, citing landmark projects such as the establishment of IIT and IIM Jammu, Jambu Zoo, Central Universities, National Highways, Ring Road, expansion of the Jammu Airport, New Industrial Policy, Ease of Doing Business, New Film Policy, and numerous Start-Up Schemes, among others.
“The BJP has become a household name, as its key achievements are being discussed in every home. There is not a single corner of J&K where the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Government have not reached,” he added. He further stressed that the people of J&K are now reaping the benefits of centrally-sponsored schemes aimed at improving the quality of life and providing opportunities for growth and development.
Appealing to the voters of the Jammu West constituency, Arvind Gupta urged them to support the BJP in the upcoming elections to continue the development spree initiated by the party. “Your support is crucial to ensuring that the progress we have achieved does not falter, and that J&K continues to flourish under the dynamic leadership of the BJP,” he added.
