JAMMU, Sept 3: Veteran Kashmiri Pandit Leader and president All India Kashmiri Pandit Conference (AIKPC) H.N. Jattu, passed away at his Faridabad (Haryana) residence this morning after a brief illness.
Jattu, known for his unwavering dedication and fiery advocacy for the rights of the Kashmiri Pandit community, leaves behind a legacy of resilience, activism and compassion.
Jattu’s contributions to the Kashmiri Pandit community can never be forgotten. A formidable leader, he played a key role in several significant movements, including the historic Parmeshwari agitation. He was instrumental in advancing the cause of displaced Kashmiri Pandits. His relentless efforts also facilitated the establishment of businesses in and around New Delhi, providing livelihood opportunities to countless members of the community.
A fire band leader Jattu led the community struggle in exile from front. He also served as president of famous Ganpatyar Shrine Srinagar. Jattu during the Pak invaders attack in Kashmir in 1947 joined the young brigade to flush out terrorists and restore confidence among people in Srinagar.
Various KP organisations including AIKPC, ASKPC, AIKS, KPC, BJP Kashmir Displaced District, Kheer Bhawani Sansthan Manzgam, Sharika Peeth , Subash Nagar, Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust, Pt Prem Nath Shastri Shodh Sansthan and others have termed his demise a great loss to community.
