Jammu East people seek change, redressal of their issues: Sawhney

JAMMU, Sept 4: Former MLA from Jammu East, Yogesh Sawhney (ex-MoS) today said that people of Jammu East and the entire region want a change and redressal of their critical issues which have remained unaddressed during BJP-PDP regime and under Saffron party’s `proxy government’ in J&K.
While addressing party meeting at village Nala Kamini in Jammu East constituency today ahead of Assembly elections in J&K, Sawhney during his outreach campaign to understand the challenges faced by the local people said the people are facing lot of miseries but their critical issues have remained unattended.
Sawhney said there is strong resentment among the public and they want total change on the political horizon of J&K. He said even the basic issues of the general public are not being addressed by the people at the helm of affairs. There is no connect between the public and the administration. There is no one to listen to the grievances of the public specially the people from rural areas.
The Congress leader termed the inflated power bills being imposed on the hapless people in J&K by the LG’s administration as economic exploitation of the masses and said that this must be stopped immediately. Sawnhey said NC-Congress Government will provide big relief to the J&K consumers from the inflated power bills and rising inflation.
The local residents during the meeting highlighted various issues to the Congress leader and apprised him of their grievances and concerns. They voiced their concerns about the lack of basic amenities, poor infrastructure, and the pressing need for urgent intervention by the authorities.
Sawhney expressed his concern over the deteriorating condition infrastructure, overflowing drains, and a severe lack of proper sanitation facilities. He stressed the urgent need to take immediate action to redress these issues, stating that the neglect faced by the residents is unacceptable.
Rehmat Ali Chairman, Choudhary Waffa and vice president Vijay Sharma Incharge Panchayat Jagti also spoke on the occasion. Choudhary Javed. Shagi Mohd, Sanjay Jamwal, Pawan Sharma, Chivan Singh, Gopal, Raju Jamwal, Neelam Singh and others were also present.
