Drug trafficker detained under PIT NDPS Act

JAMMU, Sept 5: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has detained a notorious drug trafficker under the PIT NDPS Act.
Mohammad Danish alias Danish Kuraishi of Preet Vihar, East Delhi, who was actively involved in supplying narcotics from Delhi has been booked under the PIT NDPS Act, said an NCB official.
He said NCB had previously booked Danish in multiple cases.
In CR-13/2022, he said, authorities seized 1400 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon Plus and 450 bottles of Codeine-based syrup on May 20, 2022, near Samba.
The Contraband was being transported by one Aquib Mushtaq Naik, who was arrested at the scene, with Danish identified as the supplier, he said.
In another case, the ACB official said that Danish supplied 11,328 Spasmo Proxyvon Plus capsules, which were seized at Sarore, Samba on July 26, 2022.
Three individuals transporting the drugs were arrested on-the-spot, he added.
Additionally, in crime number 18/2022, NCB seized 233.46 kilogram of Tramadol capsules and 11.088 kilograms of Codeine syrup on August 22, 2022, at Narwal, Jammu, the ACB official said.
In this case, he said, the receiver, Ubaid Nabi Ganie, was arrested, and Danish was again identified as the supplier.
Due to Danish’s repeated involvement in drug trafficking, he said, a detention order under the PIT NDPS was issued and later confirmed by the PIT NDPS Advisory Board of J&K on August 29, 2024.
