SAMBA, Sept 6: Police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district claimed they have recovered a kidnapped minor girl from Kathua district. The accused individual, who allegedly kidnapped the minor girl, has also been arrested.
A police official said that a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Vijaypur by the mother of the missing girl, stating therein that her daughter disappeared from a market.
On her complaint, he said, a case FIR number 119/2024 under section 137(2) BNS was registered at Police Station Vijaypur and accordingly a search was started to trace the missing girl.
Later, the police official said that a special team of Police Station Vijaypur led by SDPO Vijaypur with assistance of SHO Vijaypur conducted raids at different places and finally succeeded in tracing the missing girl and arresting the accused identified as Raman Kumar of Vijaypur from Kathua district.
Further investigation into the case is underway, he said.
