Centre amends transfer guidelines for IFS officers

JAMMU, Sept 6: The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has issued an amendment to the guidelines for the transfer and posting of Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers in the Joint AGMUT Cadre.

Effective immediately, the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh have been categorized as ‘Hard Areas’ (Category B) due to the merger of the J&K Cadre into the AGMUT Cadre.
Accordingly, the segments of the AGMUT Cadre have also been classified into two categories viz. regular/soft area (Category A) and hard area (Category B).
While Delhi, Goa, UTs of Chandigarh, Daman & Diu & Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and Puducherry fall in soft area (Category A) the State of Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, and UTs of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh fall in hard areas (Category B).
