Drug peddler held with Ganja, Charas, cash

JAMMU, Sept 7: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Police in Jammu’s RS Pura area claimed to have seized 1 kilogram and 76 grams of Ganja, 60 grams of Charas and Rs 2, 08, 930 in cash during a routine patrol.
A police official said that a team of RS Pura Police Station led by SHO RS Pura set up a checkpoint at Badyal Morh near Lovely Palace on September 6.
During the operation, he said, the team intercepted a man on a scooter, identified as Sunil Kumar, also known as Punjabi, a resident of Kotli Arjun Singh, Jammu.
A search of his scooter resulted in seizure of the drugs and cash hidden in the storage compartment, he said.
Accordingly, the accused has been arrested and booked under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation taken up.
