R S Pura, Sept 8: The election office of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) was inaugurated in Karan Bagh area, here today.
The office was inaugurated by former Minister and party State General Secretary, Rajendra Singh Chib, in the presence of party candidate Ch Garu Ram from RS Pura Jammu South Assembly constituency and district president, Balveer Singh Aji.
Speaking on the occasion, R S Chib said that DPAP is participating strongly in the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly elections and the names of candidates have been announced in every Assembly constituency.
He said that former Minister Ch Garu Ram has been made the candidate from RS Pura Jammu South Assembly constituency and today the election office has been opened so that all election activities can be promoted from there.
“The aim of the party is that Jammu & Kashmir should get full Statehood status and employment opportunities should be created for the youth,” he said.
Chaudhary Garu Ram said that while being a minister, he contributed a lot in the development of the area and now he has been made a candidate from RS Pura Jammu South Assembly constituency by the party and he is hopeful that the people of the area will give him their full support.
“The party president and former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir Ghulam Nabi Azad got a lot of development work done while being the Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir and it was during his tenure that RS Pura got the status of sub-district and even Government Degree Colleges were opened. Not only this, the work of giving employment to lakhs of youth under various schemes was also done by G N Azad,” he added.
Among others who were present included Dr Tanveer, Kamalpreet Singh, Satpal Mandi and Tirath Singh.
