JAMMU, Sept 8: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary to enhance the Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month.
Addressing a meeting of party workers, Subash Shastri said, “Medical Allowance in JKUT is Rs 300 per month for the last two decades as the prices of medicines and other medical related expenditure has increased to a large extent so Medical Allowance should also be increased at par with central Government.”
He hoped that a decision in this regard should also be taken by JK UT Administration as it is a routine financial matter outside the purview of Model Code of Conduct.
He further stressed on the need in releasing of pending DA / DR of 18 months from the month of January 2020 to ending June 2021 and appealed the Prime Minister and Union Finance Minister to release the outstanding 3 DA installments arrears blocked while releasing the same to its employees and pensioners 2 years ago.
Shastri further hoped that the Central Government will consider the burning demands of both Central/States/UTs employees and pensioners in releasing the 3 DA installments blocked arrears in favor of these employees and pensioners at the earliest.
