Cop suspended for MCC violation

POONCH, Sept 8: A police man has been suspended by the Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police 6th Battalion due to a violation of the Model Code of Conduct. An inquiry to be conducted by DySP Mohammad Azeem has been initiated against him.
Sergeant Muchtar Ahmad attended a political program organized by a candidate of the Indian National Congress in Surankote on August 24.

A letter written by the ARO to Surankote, the officer’s presence in the political meeting was an open and blatant violation of the MCC and the Government Employees Conduct Rules of 1971.
It read, the photos taken during the event showed Ahmad sitting among the audience and leading, following which the ARO had recommended stringent action.
Consequently, it read Sergeant Ahmad has been suspended with immediate effect.
