Dr Tasaduk attends international webinar on Avian Influenza

JAMMU, Sept 11: A Kashmir-based medico cum noted health columnist Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo attended an international webinar on Bird Flu(H5N1 Influenza). The webinar was organized by American College of Physicians (USA).
This was informed by Dr Tasaduk in a statement issued here today.
He said that bird flu is a highly contagious viral disease caused predominantly by Avian Influenza type A (H5N1) viruses, which generally affects poultry birds such as chickens and turkeys.
“Bird flu viruses can infect people though very rarely, when enough virus gets into a person’s eyes, nose or mouth, or is inhaled”, he said.
“No human bird flu infections have been reported from proper handling of poultry meat or from eating properly cooked poultry or poultry products,” he added.
Pertinently, Dr Tasaduk is a cordial member of American College of Physicians (USA).
The panelist speakers discussed about H5N1 influenza, including current strategies for testing, preventing and managing H5N1 virus infection.
