Indonesia: Health minister recommends routine Covid-19 vaccination for comorbidities

JAKARTA, Sep 12: Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin has recommended that individuals with comorbidities receive COVID-19 vaccinations routinely every six to 12 months to boost their immune systems.
“Individuals with low immunity and comorbid conditions should still receive routine Covid-19 vaccinations,” Sadikin said on Wednesday.
Sadikin referenced research indicating that the Covid-19 virus can persist in animal bodies for 50 to 100 years.
He further explained that booster vaccines are still necessary, and people need not worry as the available vaccines are safe.
He added that preventive measures through vaccination are far more affordable and convenient than dealing with an illness. (UNI)
