JAMMU, Sept 12: Senior Congress leader and contesting candidate for Bahu Assembly segment, Taranjit Singh Tony today assured the public that the registration of land and property will be reverted back to the courts if the Congress Party is voted to power in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a public meeting, Tony highlighted the ongoing issue of rampant corruption in the current registration process, which is now being handled by SDM offices.
He termed these offices as “fountains of corruption.”
“Earlier, the registration process was delayed by hours; today, it is being delayed for months, leaving the public helpless under the present regime,” he said and expressed deep concern over the suffering of the general public, who are facing prolonged delays in registration procedures due to bureaucratic inefficiencies and corruption.
Tony criticized the BJP government and said, “The BJP has miserably failed to eradicate corruption from Jammu and Kashmir. Instead of simplifying processes for the common man, they have further complicated it, leading to more opportunities for graft.”
He appealed to the people to vote and support him in the Assembly elections and said, “Vote for Congress, and we will ensure that land and property registration is transferred back to the courts, providing a transparent and efficient system for all.”
