BJP Kashmir observes Balidan Divas, pays tribute to Taploo, other martyrs

JAMMU, Sept 13: The BJP Kashmir Displaced District (KDD) observed Martyrs’ Day (Balidan Divas) here at Durga Nagar, today, to pay homage to Amar Shaheed Tika Lal Taploo on his 36th Shaheedi Divas.
Ajay Bharti, ex-MLC, BJP JKUT spokesperson and district Prabhari KDD, was the chief guest on the occasion. Others who were present included Hira Lal Bhat (Seh Prabhari, BJP KDD), Chand Jee Bhat (district president, BJP KDD), Ashok Bhat (district president, BJP Srinagar, and party candidate from Habba Kadal Srinagar and other social and political activists.
On the occasion floral tribute were paid to martyrs including Amar Shaheed Tika Lal Taploo, Pt. Prem Nath Bhat, and all the martyrs who lost their lives over the past 35 years in J&K, including Army, Paramilitary, and police personnel who fought against anti-national forces and Pakistan-sponsored terrorists.
Chand Jee Bhat, district president KDD, praised Amar Shaheed Tika Lal Taploo for his relentless commitment to strengthening nationalist forces and countering anti-national elements. He highlighted Taploo’s popularity and dedication to helping the needy, irrespective of caste, creed, or religion.
Ashok Bhat, BJP district president Srinagar, remembered Tika Lal Taploo as a great leader, social activist, and a compassionate friend of the poor and needy.
Hira Lal Bhat, Seh Prabhari KDD, described Tika Lal Taploo as an epitome of selfless service and sacrifice. He emphasized that Taploo fearlessly fought separatism, extremism, and secessionism in Kashmir, becoming a beacon of nationalism. He was the first Kashmiri Pandit leader assassinated by terrorists in broad daylight on 13th September 1989.
He termed participation in ongoing electoral process by the community to as the best tribute to the martyrs particularly Tika Lal Taploo. Bhat appealed community participate in large number and vote as it will be vote in memory of Taploo.
Ajay Bharti, ex-MLC, hailed Tika Lal Taploo as a fearless nationalist leader with deep connections to the masses. He highlighted Taploo’s unmatched political vision, popularity, and dedication to human values, noting that his influence extended across the political spectrum in Kashmir. Taploo’s assassination shocked the region, marking the beginning of the ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Hindus.
Bharti cautioned community against inimical and divisive forces who are trying to sabotage electoral process by their unwise and deceptive suggestions.
Moti Lal Bhat, and H K Razdan district general secretaries conducted the proceedings. Sweety Koul and Sheela Handoo also paid floral tribute to the martyrs.
