JAMMU, Sept 14: Senior Congress leader and contesting candidate from Bahu Assembly Constituency, Taranjit Singh Tony, today promised that he will transform Bahu into a Model Constituency if he is voted to power.
Addressing a series of public meetings at Chaata, Bhermini, and Ratti Sarari areas, Tony said that he was committed to ensure equitable development of all the areas of the Constituency.
Accompanied by Block President Latish Sharma, Bittu Sharma, and senior NC leader Abdul Ghani Malik, Tony noted that Chaata, Bhermini, and Ratti Sarari areas have faced constant neglect of the ruling dispensation.
“The BJP Government had turned a blind to the real needs of the people of these areas. It’s the time we correct this imbalance by focussing on equitable development of all the areas of this Constituency,” he said.
Criticizing the BJP leadership for discriminating with the people on the basis of caste, religion, and region, Tony promised that his focus will remain development of all, irrespective of the religious beliefs of the people.
He also promised to create a new block in Bahu Assembly Constituency to cater to the needs of the people of far-flung areas like Bhermini and Ratti Sarari.
He appealed people to come out en-masse for voting, claiming that only Congress party can prioritise the concerns of the people and deliver balanced and inclusive progress.
