JAMMU, Sept 14: Independent candidate contesting from Bahu Constituency, Jayesh Gupta, has cautioned people of Jammu and Kashmir against grand hollow promises being made by NC-Congress, BJP and other political parties ahead of the scheduled Assembly elections.
Jayesh Gupta highlighted the continued failures of these parties to fulfill their electoral promises, urging the public to be cautious in their voting choices. While interacting with a diverse cross-section of people during door to door campaigning in Gole Market area of Gandhi Nagar, Gupta listened to a number of grievances concerning the poor state of roads, the deteriorating condition of Government schools, irregular water and power supplies, and the rising burden of hefty electricity and water bills.
Addressing these concerns, he emphasized that these basic issues have been ignored for far too long by the major political parties that have governed the region over the years. “The people of J&K are fed up with the empty promises of the National Conference, Congress, People’s Democratic Party, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP),” Gupta said. “Before every Assembly election, they come up with grand promises, only to fail in delivering once they assume power. This time, people won’t be misled by these traditional parties.”
Gupta pointed out that the region has repeatedly placed its trust in various parties, hoping for a change, only to be let down time and again. The lack of development, especially in the provision of basic amenities such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure, has left the public disillusioned.
“The people of J&K are still struggling for basic needs after 75 years of mismanagement by successive Governments,” Gupta remarked. “This time, the people will not fall into the trap of these parties as they have become enough wise now,” he asserted.
