JAMMU, Sept 16: The Welfare Association of retired Central Paramilitary Forces (CPF) in J&K has raised the issues faced by the retired personnel of CPF.
In a press conference here today, D.K Chauhan, Association leader said that a delegation of retired CPF personnel had met MPs Jugal Kishore Sharma and Dr. Jitendra Singh with their issues but the same were ignored.
Chauhan demanded benefits, as are granted to ex-servicemen of Defence Forces, for the retired personnel of BSF, CRPF, CISF and ITBP.
“The Cabinet Committee on Security had approved a proposal from the Ministry of Home Affairs for such benefits to the personnel of Paramilitary Forces but there was lack of effective implementation by the State/UT Government in this regard,” he maintained adding that benefits of 7th Pay Commission recommendations were also delayed to these personnel.
The Association leader further said that their 18 months’ Dearness Allowance arrears were pending and warned that if these issues were not resolved promptly then they may boycott the upcoming Assembly elections in J&K in protest.
Harvinder Mahajan, chief advisor; Ashok Kumar, chairman; Kuldeep Singh, president; Harbans Lal Sharma, vice president; Yash Pal, Jagan Nath, Gurdeep Singh, Manjeet Singh and Bishno Devi, all members along with Noor Mohd, president district Samba were also present on the occasion.
