JAMMU, Sept 16: Kashmiri Pandit Civil Society today appealed the displaced people from Valley not to ear the boycott call and participate in the ensuring Assembly elections enmass by exercising their democratic right enshrined in the Constitution of India.
The KP Civil Society which met here under the leadership of Ashok Kangan a senior KP leader said boycotting the election is not in any body’s interests but it is harming the interest of the community. “ The election is the festival of democracy and by boycotting elections, the forces inimical to national interests are getting strengthened,” the meeting said.
It appealed the community to reject the call and stand fully with PM Modi in his endeavour to weed out terrorism from the J&K and restore peace all over.
The meeting was addressed by H L Bhat, Ravinder Thaploo, Dr Raj Hangloo, Pawan Bumbroo, Ajay Takoo, Sanjay Ganjoo, Sher, Nitin Handoo, M L Bhat, Shiban Ji and Rajesh Kaul.
Meanwhile, Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha Sabha also in a meeting here, today held under the leadership of Ramesh Chander Mahajan its president urged the displaced community members to turn into large numbers and cast their vote in ensuing Assembly poll. The meeting said boycott is not in the interests of any one and it supports the cause of anti national forces. The meeting urged migrants to reject the call and enmass participate in all three phases of elections.
